FAQ’s
Do you require a deposit and is it refundable?
No, we don’t require a deposit.
If life has taught us one thing, that’s that anything can happen between booking and shooting.
When will we get our finished prints?
For weddings and larger events, you will usually receive your images within 3 weeks of the event, throughout the summer season it may be a little longer due to the higher volume of work, although I will always try to get the images back to you within the 4weeks.
For headshots, family portraits and product shots, you would be looking at up to 2 weeks for these.
Your photos will be sent to you via a secure download link where you and your family and friends can see the photographs and can send these off to be printed to your specifications.
Who has ownership rights of the photos?
Copyright is often misunderstood, the copyright is always held with the original creator of the work. What you are really asking for is the right to use/reproduce that work. You are allowed to reproduce and copy the photographs taken by Azure Photo’s for your own personal use in a non commercial way. If you wanted to use that image for monetary gain that would be a breach of our copyright.
I own any and all copy and reproduction rights and ask you not to reproduce or copy any album proofs or photographs taken of your shoot for commercial use.
I would also ask that if you upload any images to social media sites that full credits are always given to www.AzurePhotos.co.uk
What if we need to postpone or cancel our session?
If someone is unwell in your group (and we completely understand it happens) we need as much notice as possible, please try to give 2 days notice so we can then let other clients know of upcoming availability. We will then work with you to reschedule for another time when we can all enjoy the session and capture the best images.
If you cancel your session entirely within one day of the booking I reserve the right to charge the full fee for the assignment. If a booking is cancelled within ten working days of the starting time, I may charge 50% of the full fee.
For outside bookings I’ll keep an eye on the forecast two days before your shoot. Where no indoor option is available, and we need to reschedule (at no extra cost to you) or change the time of the shoot due to heavy rain or strong winds, you will have plenty of notice.
In the event I am unable to fulfil a booking, due to reasons out of my control (e.g. including but not limited to; illness, vehicle breakdown, cancellation of public transport) I agree to inform the client as soon as I become aware of the problem. I cannot be held liable for any expenses or consequential loss incurred by yourself.
What should we bring or wear to a family portrait shoot?
For a portrait shoot, there are a few things that can make your photos look even better, so I’ve noted a few of these for consideration.
If your child has a favourite toy or game that helps them feel more relaxed or encourages play then that would be great. Bringing some snacks (chocolate buttons seem to work well) as they melt without any chewing faces!
In spring and summer, I generally recommend soft, muted colours in neutrals or pastels such as denims, blues, creams, pinks etc. These colours flatter most skin tones.
For autumn and winter photos, chunky knits in berry, jewel tones and mustards can look fantastic!
It’s best to avoid bright primary colours, black or bold patterns with stripes/logos etc. Hats or other accessories can sometimes help to mix things up too! The most important thing is that you are comfortable.
If it rains, then just as long as you and your family dress appropriately, a bit of bad weather shouldn’t cause us too many problems. If we have torrential rain we can always switch to an indoor or sheltered location. Should one be available, we’ll still be able to capture some great shots.
How many photos are included?
Every event is different and depends on the amount of activity within the event. I do not limit the amount of photos I take at an event. A wedding, for example, has many aspects and interactions so photos could be in the hundreds, whereas an awards ceremony or exhibition is governed by the amount of content so could be significantly less.
Is editing included in your rates?
Editing is included as part of the shoot fee, normally crop, tone and colour correct. Additional retouching such as object removal and beauty retouching is charged at £25 per hour.
